With stats like Eric Eiseler put up in 2010, it’s hard to say he was flying under the radar.
However, playing for Grand Ledge (who finished the season as the #1 team in the West Michigan High School Baseball Top 10) means sharing the spotlight with many talented players.
2011 promises to be the year everyone learns about Eric Eiseler!
Brought up to varsity as a Sophomore, which is not an honor taken lightly at Grand Ledge, Eiseler really hit his stride as a Junior.
While playing both middle infield positions, Eiseler hit .491 and belted 9 home runs for the Comets.
Add to that 39 RBI’s, 6 doubles and 2 triples – and you have the makings of a great player.
For his work, Eiseler was named All-Conference and All-Area.
In addition, he was awarded with an Academic All-District nod.
Eiseler helped the Comets on the mound as well, going 2-0 with 3 saves and striking out 31.
Getting exposure to the college coaches is really helped along by playing summer and fall baseball.
Eiseler has committed the time, playing for the strong Underwood Orr program this summer (he hit .379) and playing for the top Diamonds team out of Grand Rapids this fall.
His efforts are paying off as he has attracted the attention of the coaches from Ohio University, Adrian College, Tiffin University Concordia University and Grand Rapids Community College.
A strong senior season will certainly help Eric Eiseler meet his goal of playing middle infield at the collegiate level.
