Bryan Baldwin of Rockford is one of West Michigan’s top pitchers.
Last season as a Junior, Baldwin went 8-3 on the hill with a sterling ERA of just 1.26 over 66 2/3 innings pitched.
For his efforts, Baldwin was named First Team All-Conference in the OK Red.
In addition, he was named All-District and was picked as the Ram’s Top Pitcher and Team MVP.
“Bryan is a competitor” says Rockford head coach Ian Hearn.
“The bigger the game and the tougher the opponent, the more determined Bryan is.”
Hearn is obviously looking for big things from Baldwin in 2011.
Rockford put one of the youngest teams in the area on the field last year – but also one of the better teams.
This year, Rockford should be one of the top teams in West Michigan with Baldwin leading the way for his third Varsity season.
“It is exciting to have Bryan back in the rotation for another year” said Hearn.
When not pitching, Baldwin plays 1st base and produces for Rockford at the plate.
Last season, he hit .410 with 2 doubles, 2 triples and 2 home runs.
He also knocked in 15 runs while scoring 19 himself.
In the summer, Baldwin plays for Diamonds Training out of Grand Rapids.
Exposure in multiple tournaments has increased Baldwin’s profile among college coaches.
While many schools expressed interest in the pitcher, Baldwin recently announced that he has committed to Spring Arbor University.
UPDATE: on November 3rd, Bryan signed with Spring Arbor University.
