Hudsonville’s Sky Hoke Signs with Grand Valley State University

Sky Hoke signs with Grand Valley while his parents, Frank and Val, look on

Skylar Hoke, a West Michigan High School Baseball “2011 Player to Watch”, will continue his education and play baseball at Grand Valley State University.

Hoke joins fellow “2011 Player to Watch” Lance Buitendyk of West Catholic, who has also signed with Grand Valley.

“I chose Grand Valley because it felt like home to me”, Hoke told West Michigan High School Baseball.

“When I first visited, I could really see myself going there and knew it would be a great fit.”

Hoke,
a right handed pitcher, is excited about the opportunity to play for a very successful program run by 12th year head coach Steve Lyon.

“I love the fact that the Lakers compete every year for not only the GLIAC title, but a national championship as well”,
said Hoke.

“I really wanted to step into a position where I could contribute to a successful program.”

Grand Valley recently opened their new fieldhouse and if Hoke is any indication, it will help attract recruits to the school.

“The indoor fieldhouse was definitely the best out of any I visited!” said Hoke.

While Hoke is looking forward to his senior year at Hudsonville, he is looking forward to joining the Lakers this fall as well.

“Coach Lyon and Coach Detillion run a great program”,
said Hoke.

“On the visit and throughout the recruiting process, they were very friendly, positive, and easy to talk with. I’m so excited to get on campus next fall!”

West Michigan High School Baseball congratulates Sky Hoke and wishes him well at the next level!
